As most of us know, it is very important to remove our makeup before doing exercises, before swimming and most importantly, before going to bed. There are many important reasons as to why we must remove it but using the correct makeup remover is also important. With this said, what is the best makeup remover for sensitive skin?

I’m going to provide some great makeup removers for all types of skins too but the main focus is going to be for all of those with sensitive skin. Why? Because, when we take our makeup off (specially for going to sleep), we don’t want to use a product that will irritate our faces. We want something that works, that doesn’t have any harsh chemicals, that has clean ingredients and that will leave our faces clean.

There are many products and even steps to washing our faces. It doesn’t necessarily need to be expensive to work. I like to mention that because we all know someone that only buys what’s most expensive without doing research. This might even be you (no judging, we all do it at some point). We are going to take look at some of the best makeup removers for sensitive skin. But first, let’s mention the different types of makeup removers that are available.

Types of makeup removers – A bit of information

As mentioned, there are different types of makeup removers. Some might work best than others but you choose what you’re comfortable with.

Makeup removing wipes (facial wipes or towelettes) – typically comes in a small resealable package. You wipe your face with one of the towelettes and discard them afterwards. They don’t require rinsing after using them but you may do so if you wish.

Makeup removing pads – comes in a package with pads already infused with ingredients to remove makeup and clean your skin. Gently wipes pads over makeup until all makeup is removed. Rinsing is not always required.

Makeup removing lotion – you can either apply with your fingertips or using a cotton ball. Massage over face until makeup is removed. You may rinse or remove with soft washcloth.

Micellar water – apply on cotton balls or cotton pads, massage into face until makeup is removed. No need to rinse.

They are somewhat different but with the same makeup removing goal. My personal favorites are the micellar water makeup removers. It’s easy, quick and leave a nice clean feeling. I also like to carry makeup wipes for those just in case moments.

  1. Hello, thank you very much for such a post. In fact, this is what I have been looking for, I have sensitive skin and some times have problems on the right make up remover but that have been taken out of the way by your very well elaborated post and some products proposal.
Thank you very much for such a post, I will go right ahead and try some.
    Thank you.

  2. Hi, I’m so glad I came across this post. It’s really informative and I honestly had no idea to use oil. It can be so hard to choose what to buy as there’s just so many options available now, so the mini reviews really helped 🙂

  3. Hi, there.

Thank you for this cool product reviews. I’m desperately looking for the perfect makeup remover that actually really is gentle to my extra sensitive skin. Have you ever tried any of them yourself? I’m very curious about the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser. It seems to be all natural, which is a big plus. Do you happen to know it is free of animal testing, too? If yes, then I might just try it out. I’m a little reluctant nowadays because I’ve had makeup cleansers, which supposedly were for sensitive skin, giving me dry spots and rashes before. A friend of mine uses the First Aid Cleanser as well; she’s completely satisfied with it. I just wanted to have a second (your) opinion if possible.

Thank you so much for all the great info here.

    Blessings and warm regards,
